Questions and Answers for Weddings and Events on the Vaux Hall Farm. FAQs for Overnight Stays
Planning your perfect day at Vaux Hall Farm is an exciting journey. To help you map out the details and logistics of your celebration, we have compiled the most common questions and answers below.
What is the maximum capacity for weddings and events?
Our venue can comfortably accommodate up to 250 guests for outdoor receptions in a tent or our pavilion and lawn ceremonies. Capacities can vary depending on the specific setup, so please contact our event staff to discuss your guest list.
Is there a backup plan for inclement weather?
Yes! While we love outdoor celebrations, we highly recommend renting a frame or pole tent for the lawn areas. In the event of sudden poor weather, ceremonies can be shifted under the tented spaces to ensure your guests stay comfortable.
How many hours are included in the venue rental?
Standard wedding packages include 12 hours of total venue access on the day of the event (typically from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM). This includes time for vendor setup, the event itself, and clean-up. Additional hours may be purchased upon request.
Is lodging included in the venue rental fee?
Lodging is not automatically included in the base venue rental, but our on-site homes and cottages can be reserved concurrently for your wedding party or family. We highly recommend booking these early to guarantee availability for your wedding weekend.
Can we use our own vendors, or do you have an exclusive list?
We offer an open-vendor policy, meaning you are welcome to hire any professional, insured catering and event team you prefer! We also provide a list of highly recommended local vendors who are familiar with our property to help simplify your planning.
Are we allowed to bring our own alcohol?
Yes, you may supply your own alcohol, however, all alcohol must be served by an insured, professional bartending service, and couples must obtain an appropriate ABC banquet license.
Are tables, chairs, and linens provided?
We provide the historic backdrop and event grounds, but tables, chairs, and linens must be rented through an outside rental company. This allows you complete freedom to design your layout and match your specific wedding theme perfectly.
Is there a catering kitchen available on-site?
No. Caterers are expected to bring their own equipment to the site. A limited amount of cold storage and prep space is provided with a pavilion rental.
Are there any specific decoration or music restrictions?
Because we are a historic property and a working farm with animals, we do not allow open flames (candles must be enclosed in glass), confetti, glitter, or fireworks. Additionally, to respect local noise ordinances and our animals, all amplified music must conclude by 11:00 PM.
Is there an on-site venue coordinator present on the wedding day?
Yes. Our staff will be on-site to manage the location.
Are wedding parties required to have their own Wedding Planner?
Yes. Weddings are large and complex events, we require wedding parties to provide their own wedding planner to plan and manage the event timeline and be a single point of contact for our venue staff.
